From reading it for the first time, Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody was one of my favorite supporting characters in the Harry Potter series. And when the movies featuring this toprobablughest and most skilled Auror came to the big screen, I really enjoyed the little moments with him. Of course there had to be a Mad-Eye Moody Minimate sooner or later, and Luke314pi did a great job on him. That weired eye of his turned out very cool and I really like his sculpted cane slash wand. Good news: you can get the decals at his Factory. More pics of other Harry Potter customs right after the jump.

Forge Minimate
One of the Marvel characters we have seen customized the most is probably the X-Men Forge. Basicly, because you can create your own Forge Minimate by just swapping some parts. You can add some extra details by using a little paint here and there, but on the whole we got most of the needed incredients, including his iconic bandana. And even various facial expression you can use. Now I wonder why we haven't seen an official Forge Minimate, yet. Anyway, one of my favorits of the huge list of Forges is the one you see in the pic, created by customizer youbastards over at MMMV. Feel free to have a closer look and get some info after the jump.

Thundercats Cheetara Minimate
Here's another spot on Thundercats creation by eclipse over at MMMV: a Thundercats Cheetara Minimate! Great work on the decals and paint to create the simple but iconic look of the only adult female in the team. I really like that she's basicly a vanilla mate - plus the hair piece -, but she doesn't look like one, thanks to the great paint job! A lot more pics after the jump.

Zombie Minimates
There are more zombies to come! Yay! Look at this bunch of brain-hungry undeads! Aren't they adorable? The nice woman in the front, lacking her lower jaw. Or that guy in red in the back with parts of his abdomen ripped off? He's also missing a hand! Zombies are just great. Those buggers were created by customizer Luke314pi for his very own Toystore, which means you can actually buy the needed decals or stickers to make these zombies yourself. Please regard this less as an advertisement and mor as a hint. You can see a few pics by BrobotC, who actually used these decals to build his own Zombie Minimate army after the jump.

Zombie Fat Guy Minimate
What's a Walking Dead themed custom without any of the walking dead, right? So let's concentrate our attention on some of the great zombie customs, like this Zombie Fat Guy Minimate! Make sure you have a closer look at the details, like the sideburns, the blood splatters and the bowels! Amazing work by customizer Mini Myte!
You can see more shots of the Zombie Fat Guy and even more zombies after the jump.

Walking Dead Rick Grimes Minimate
Here's a great custom of The Walking Dead's protagonist Rick Grimes. Being a sheriff's deputy in the small town of Cynthiana, Kentucky, he got shot and wakes up after Zombie Apocalypse. Although this is a little bit of a spoiler, customizer BrobotC over at MMMV did a great job on capturing the details of this character. Civilians are usualy pretty tough to cutomize, but this Rick Grimes Minimate does everything right. You can see the original post after the jump.

Watchmen Minutemen Minimates
This isn't just a perfectly setted group shot of the Minutemen from the Watchmen series, this is also a collection of really great and ambitious Minimate customs! Eclipse did the great job on making all of the original Minutemen members: Silhouette, Mothman (great job on those wings!), Dollar Bill, Nite Owl (great hat!), Captain Metropolis, Comedian, Silk Spectre and Hooded Justice (using real ropes!) Outstanding achievement! You can see more pics (and by browsing through his thread, even close-ups of every single character) after the jump.

Axe Cop Minimate
What would be even greater than a Dr. McNinja minimate? Right, a Dr. McNinja Minimate being able to team up with an Axe Cop Minimate! Here you go. The very obscure heroes - or at least the guys the comics are named after - of two of the most inceredible webcomics, ever. Periode. And yes, I did it. (I can't belive I haven't seen an Axe Cop 'mate before!) Anyway, you can enjoy a lot more pics after the jump.

Dr. McNinja Minimate
Sooner or later it was inevitable to display some of my own works, wasn't it? So here we go with one of my favorite customs I've ever done: Dr. McNinja Minimate. You ever read the comic? You should. Like right now! Besides the parts I got from different Minimates, I needed two things: a really cool katana, since I don't like either these nor those original Minimate swords. So I stealt one from a G.I. Joe. And I needed a stethoscope. So I made one. More pics, the recipe and a little info on Dr. McNinja after the jump.

The Maxx Minimate
Browsing through the huge back-catalogue of customs over at MMMV, I stumbled upon this amazing the Maxx Minimate by Shamrock. I'm not very familiar with the storyline, but I know his very iconic look. The pint job on this guy is spot on and the scultped details are terrific. More pics of the Maxx after the jump.

BBoy DJ Doc Brown Minimate
The end is nigh! At least when it comes to the amazing Alternative Universe Contest. One of the last entries is a time-traveling, break-dancing, records-scratching BBoy going by the name DJ Doc Brown. Customizer Nervous came up with this spin on Doc Brown from Back To The Future and I really like it. His style is pretty old school. He's wearing these obligatory gold chains, an extreme hi-top fade hairstyle and the RUN DMC sneakers you had to have back then. See more pics of him and his amazing DJ set after the jump.

Captain Lucas Minimate
After seeing what the Creature form the Black Lagoon was really up to, here's a character from the original movie cast: Captain Lucas! Customizer Mini-Myte did a terrific job on this guy, although he himself wasn't too happy with all the details. The custom recipe and more pics of Captain Lucas Minimate after the jump.

Invisible Man Minimate
Another Universal Monster themed custom: Invisible Man Minimate. Joe Hill did an amazing job on this still missing classic in DST's UM line. I especially like the look of the sleeve-head bandage combined with the glasses. The sculpting on that one and on the trenchcoat is well done, isn't it? More pics, the recipe and even the history on the creation of that custom after the jump.

Black Ops Creature From The Black Lagoon Minimate
And another great idea from the Alternative Universe Contest: Ever considered an alternative universe in which the Universal Monsters go B.P.R.D. style and work secretly for the C.I.A.? Customizer Punisher came up with this pretty clever idea. His Black Ops Creature From The Black Lagoon Minimate called Gill-Man is a highly trained killing machine in the Vietnam war. I must say I wasn't that overwhelmed by this new Minimate line, but Punisher's idea really got me on! A background story on the whole top secret program and a teaser pic of who might be the next Universal Monster go black ops after the jump.

Custom Con 28
Custom Con is a special semi-annual presentation of new custom toy creations by customizers around the globe. Custom Con 28 will run from April 4 to 8, 2011. The deadline to submit your entries is just around the corner: March 7, 2011. So in case you got something to showcase, don't hesitate! For this Spring's exhibition, even single customs are allowed. You don't need to come up with a whole set of 4+ like last years, although bigger sets would be appreciated. Here's hoping we'll see some great Minimate artwork. All info and details after the jump.

Bat-Duck-Man Minimate
A-well-a everybody's heard about the bird. Obviously custimzer Boyd heard about the bird and he took his chance. For the Alternative Universe Contest he crossed nobody less then the Dark Knight himself with the most iconic and maybe annoying bird of all times: Donald Duck. The result of this mash-up is the Bat-Duck-Man Minimate. Please have a closer look at those deatils! The iconic feathered rump? And the modified BatDuck symbol on his chest? A short description and more pics after the jump.

Legionaire Thor Minimate
And yet again the Alternative Universe Contest brings up another unique idea. Mixing up Norse and Christian mythology customizer intot comes up with an angel-winged Legionaire Thor minimate. It's a combination of various parts from very different characters, but you still have an insant that's-Thor-feeling. I really like the spear he's using instead of Mjolnir. A short background story and more pics after the jump.

Galactus Minimate
Not exactly what you have in mind when you think of MINImates, but this outstanding custom is another tweak on a previously released 'mate. If you compare this badass custom with it's original release, you see what needed to be done to get rid of 'Mr. Squishy Face' and come up with this world-eating big boy! A job for elite customizer Luke314pi. The head alone is a piece of art. Besides a complete repaint, Galactus got a new and more detailed and appropriate facial expression, and to top all that, Luke also gave him a bigger head! Breathtaking! That's what DST could have done. More picturs, more info and then some right after the jump.

X-Force Cable Minimate
Not a brand new custom, but a very inspiring tweak on the X-Force Cable Minimate we got last year. The bright blue and yellow colors give him a great look. Iconic L-man's style, right? The modified bulky chest piece looks even better than the original. (Only thing I'd change is the blue on his collar since it doesn't exactly match the rest.) Anyway, JBoogie did a great job on Nathan. Some more pics including him teaming up with a custom Bishop 'mate after the jump.
