Buddy Elf Minimate

Buddy Elf Minimate
We all know that Santa isn't running the whole Christmas business by himself. And customizer Nervous portrait one of his most, erm, smiling assistants: Buddy Elf Minimate. You gotta love that fella, right? Anyway: Happy Holidays to all of you and check out more pics of him and Santa right after the jump.

Sauron Minimate

Sauron Minimate
Let's talk about Sauron. No, not the one with the rings, the one with the wings. Karl "Pterodactyl" Lykos - who actually named himself after the guy with the one ring. He's one of the more bizarre creatures from the bizarre Savage Land hidden in Antartica. He's also one of the characters I guessed we'd never see as a Minimate. But customizer Mattallica proved me wrong: that Sauron Minimate of his looks incredible and it works really, really well as a Minimate! I especially like that paint job. Have a closer look and view more pics right after the jump.

X-Sanction Cable Minimate

X-Sanction Cable Minimate
Cable is back! and he's got just 24 hours to wipe the Avengers from the pages of history! That's what the current X-Sanction story arch seems to be about. And that it's going to be epic and changes history in Marvel Universe once and for all. Again. But when I look at JBoogie's incredible X-Sanction Cable Minimate I'm willing to become a true beliver again. He looks just stunning! I really like how the Halo parts look on ol' Nathan. See more pics of him and pick up the face decal after the jump.

Space Ghost Minimate

Space Ghost Minimate
We're talking Space Ghost. And he had them all. Pete Fonda. Jack Black. Pavement. Charlton Heston. Steve Nash. Even Lassie. I didn't grow up with the original Hanna-Barbera cartoon and so I learned about him from the spoof talk show Space Ghost Coast to Coast in the 90s. And I enjoyed it a lot. Customizer Nervous showed a lot of SG love with this very nice Space Ghost Minimate. I really think the rather simple look works great on a minimate. Go and have a closer look after the jump.

Defenders Dr. Strange Minimate

Defenders Dr. Strange Minimate
We already got an official Dr. Strange and in my opinion he's one of the best Minimates ever made. Unfortunatelly you needed to get the Defenders box set, and that's pretty rar these days. Now after decades, Dr. Strange changed his look and leads a new team of Defenders. Time for a second Defenders box set you say? I do agree. But for now, JBoogie did an incredible job on this new Defenders Dr. Strange Minimate. Clever use of parts and great decals! AA/DST watch out: he's set the bar very high. Have a closer look after the jump.

Santa Claus Minimate

Santa Claus Minimate
Ho-ho-ho and a pint of Brass Monkey and when my reindeers shake their hips, they sure get funky. Santa Claus in the house. OK, enough with the rhymin' and stealin'. The man, thy myth, the bartender over at the Minibar, Mini Myte, did this amazingly detailed job on a Santa Claus Minimate. The sculpted cloth look terrific and the repainted beared works much better on good ol' Santa than on that pirate guy. Go ahead and see a few more pics of him (and make sure to have a closer look at the gifts under the tree! Hover Board anyone?) right after the jump.

Kang Minimate

Kang Minimate
Let's talk about Kang. Kang The Conqueror. Kang The Supreme. Kang the Time Traveler. Kang the most desired Minimate for quite a while now. Over at the MMMV people are cheering for him a lot. But if you look at him, he's a pretty easy to make Minimate, isn't he? We've seen a few customs of him already and it might be that this one by eclipse is one of the best Kang Minimate customs, yet. So the question is when - not if - AA/DST will jump on the bandwaggon and give people what they want (and let them choose the next obscure character to cheer for.) Read all about the recipe after the jump.

Madame Masque Minimate

Madame Masque Minimate
When Whitney Frost's plane crashed (damn you, Iron Man!), her face was horribly scarred and instead of talking to a plastic surgeon, she got a golden mask and became Madame Masque. With that, she would make a bloody awesome Bond villain, right? Anyway, JBoogie just came up with a brilliant Madame Masque Minimate including a golden gun. Some very nice decals did the job and she looks great. Go, have a closer look after the jump.

Wings of Redemption Spawn Minimate

Wings of Redemption Spawn Minimate
We've already seen his regular Spawn and now customizer Les Koting gives us yet another design: Wings of Redemption Spawn Minimate. As much as I loved the other one, I must say I do prefer this one over the original. Although his style doesn't really blend in with most of the other Minimate lines' clean paint jobs, the color scheme is amazing. And so is the texturing on the sculpting. Great work. Have a closer look and view mor pics after the jump.

Mockingbird Minimate

Mockingbrid Minimate
Did somebody say West Coast Avengers? Bobbi Morse, better known as Mockingbird is a long deceased (actually kidnapped) and currently resurrected (this time she was dead, well, close to) character from the Silver Age of comics and I must say, I always loved her costume. The old one, not the current. Gladly, customizer Psyguy was aiming for that very look and he did a great job on this Mockingbird Minimate! Very nice details, clever use of parts and nicely added sculpted pieces. Have a closer look and read all about the recipe after the jump.

Constrictor Minimate

Constrictor Minimate
Constrictor, aka Frank Something-Something, was a SHIELD agent who became a criminal after he killed several youths. Or was it, because he was Deadpool's roommate for some time? You never know. Customizer Hellpop took his shot on this guy and came up with a pretty decent Constrictor Minimate custom. Some nice decals, some clever re-used parts and there you are. You can have a closer look, read all about the recipe and even get the decals to make your own Constrictor Minimate over at his blog right after the jump.

Giant Man Minimate

Giant Man Minimate
Personally, I never liked Hank Pym that much as a character, but he makes it easy to be disliked. From the several identities he held I might like Giant Man best and this here is a great Giant Man Minimate. Customizer JBoogie designed some fine decals for him and I especially like how his face turned out. He also used a 2.5 inch body, towering above all other mates, and I know that a lot of people would love to see those taller Minimates to represent big (but not bulked up) characters. We all know this won't happen but that doesn't hold customizers back, right? You can read all about the recipe and see more pics of him after the jump.

Tuesday, November 08, 2011

The Maxx Minimate

The Maxx Minimate
Image Comics published quite a few of those huge, bulked up characters back in the 1990s. Pitt comes to mind, or the Creech and this guy here, the Maxx. We've already seen a brilliant The Maxx Minimate by Shamrock, but customizer Les Koting interprets this guy in a different, much darker way. Especially the sculpting is superb. The boots are bloody amazing and his face and headdress/mane is just incredible. All in all a very impressive custom! You need to have a closer look at this guy and view a lot more pics after the jump.

Revengers Minimates

Revengers Minimates
Are you familiar with Marvel's rather obscure Cancerverse? No? Well it's a corrupted, sentient parallel universe to the regular Earth-616 in there you can meet the Revengers. Customizer Shamrock assembled the Revengers Minimates and brought us Mrs. Marvel, Thor, Vaughn, Scarlett Witch, Team Leader Lord Mar-Vell, Iron Man, Adam Magnus, Cap America and Giant Man! Make sure you have a closer look on each and every member of the Revengers after the jump.

Young Avengers Minimates

Young Avengers Minimates
Young Avengers assembled! Customizer Psyguy did the incredible job to complete the whole team and we can now have a look at how official Young Avengers Minimates would look like. I've already presented his Wiccan and Patriot customs, but now he did them all: Vision 2.0, Kate Bishop, Iron Lad, Patriot, Stature, Wiccan, Hulkling and Speed. Just Great! Go have a closer look and read about the recipes after the jump.

Michael Jackson Thriller Minimates

Michael Jackson Thriller Minimates
I was five or six when I saw the music video to Michael Jackson's Thriller for the first time. I watched it with my mom and I was scared, really, really scared. I guess I left the room before that famous ghoul dance even started. Anyway: look at those Michael Jackson Thriller Minimates! Customizer mwattsart recreated this scene from the video and I especially like how he got all those Minimates do that dance. That's a great posing, isn't it? You can view more pics of Jackson and the whole gang right after the jump. Happy Halloween!

Zombie Magnum Minimate

Zombie Magnum Minimate
Halloween is just around the corner and look what I found: a zombified Magnum, P.I. Minimate! And it is gorious! Customizer Antacost brings us this zombie Magnum Minimate and he did an incredible job! You have to enjoy all those details. He is not only coming with his famous thick mustache, the Detroit Tigers baseball hat, and one of his colorful Aloha shirts. No, he also comes with the head oh Higgins! Very nicely done! You can see more pics of him right after the jump.

Blacklash Minimate

Cyber Minimate
Meet Mark Scarlotti, brilliant engineer, weapons designer, husband, father and currently deceased C-list supervillain called Blacklash. You might know him better under his other secret identity Whiplash, wearing this fancy haloesque outfit. But he's currently dead anyway, though. Customizer Fwoosheyman remembered him and did a great custom Blacklash Minimate. Once again we see that those colorful and obscure outfits work perfectly well as Minimates. The reused parts look great on him and I especially like his green ponytail. You can read all about the recipe right after the jump.

Isaiah Bradley - The Black Captain America Minimate

Isaiah
I already mentioned Isaiah Bradley being Patriot's grandfather and now we have a Isaiah Bradley - The Black Captain America Minimate. Being one of those African American guinea pigs in Dr. Reinstein's Super Soldier project, Isaiah Bradley would later become the Black Captain America. His story is collected in Truth - Red, White & Black. This custom Minimate by Bob Harris is rather simple, but features everything Bradley needs - including his shield on which he drew the Double V for Victory sign. You can view more pics after the jump.

Thursday, October 20, 2011

Steve Rogers Minimate

Steve Rogers Minimate
Steve Rogers had a bunch of different outfits besides his iconic look as Captain America - including one that resembled a Transformer. A lot of those looks were already produced as official Minimates. One of his latest looks is the one as Commander Steve Rogers the Super Soldier and guess what? JBoogie did an incredible job on this Steve Rogers Minimate! This guy really stands out and I especially love how well his new shield looks. Great job! Now we can all hope AA/DST is having this in mind when - not if - they come up with their version of him. You can read all about the recipe and see a lot more pics of him after the jump.

Machine Man Minmate

Machine Man Minmate
X-51 - what a nice and euphonious name - was built as an US Army killing machine, but after gaining sentience became the "robot with a soul". Later on he became kind of a superhero going by the name Machine Man and being member of, well, Nextwave (for God's sake!). Customizer Rheul did what I believe is the first Machine Man Minmate and he did well! Besides the spot on decals used, he even added some Go-Go-Gadget body extensions. (Now am I the only one wanting to see an Inspector 'mate?) Go have a closer look, view another pic and read all about the recipe after the jump.

Monday, October 10, 2011

Tigra Minimate

Tigra Minimate
Greer Grant Nelson has been a Westcoast Avenger, a cop, a spy, got shrunk and even lived in Oz for a while and is currently a mom (right?). All that's Tigra, the furry gal with the long red hair and the leather bikini. We haven't seen a Tigra Minimate yet, although we got a pretty nice Cheetah 'mate. Customizer Psyguy couldn't stand it anymore, so he came up with a great Tigra Minimate. And she looks great, doesn't she? Really nice paint job and nice sculpting on her belt, too! Have a closer look and read about the recipe after the jump.

Thursday, October 06, 2011

Ulik the Troll Minimate

Cyber Minimate
Let's talk about Rock Trolls! Ol' Ulik here probably is the greatest, most fearsome and deadliest of all. That makes him a top contender to beat his greatest enemy: Thor. With his beard, the mighty breastplate and all those details he makes a great and colorful minimate. Customizer Luke did a great job on this Ulik the Troll Minimate and I especially like his grimm facial expression. Luke being the master of decal designs did a great job once more. You can see a close up pic of Ulik right after the jump.

Monday, October 03, 2011

Flash Thompson Venom Minimate

Flash Thompson Venom Minimate
Earlier this year war veteran Flash Thompson became the Venom symbiote's new host as a government black ops agent. And although it's debatable whether that's a clever move by Marvel, this new Venom alreday got a big fanbase. So why not have a custom Flash Thompson Venom Minimate, right? Bob Harris (aka me) took the chance to be one of the first people customizing this guy with all the details needed. I wonder how long it will take until DST/AA offers us an official one. You can see a lot more pics right after the jump.

Saturday, October 01, 2011

Abomination Minimate

Abomination
KGB spy Emil Blonsky deliberately exposed himself to an even greater quantity of the same gamma radiation that transformed Bruce Banner in our beloved Hulk and became the Abomination. Customizer Mini Myte created this great Abomination Minimate which is bulked up a lot more than the original released one. (Thanks to the new Hulk parts I'm pretty sure we'll see an updated Abomination Minimate looking quite like this fellow here, pretty soon.) But that's not all, he's also starring in episode 15 of "Tales from the Minibar". (15 if you count the three Summer Blockbuster parts as one.) You can see a few more pics right after the jump.

Spawn Minimate

Spawn Minimate
Since his introduction in 1992, we've seen a lot of different Spawn characters and variations of his black outfit with the chains, spikes, skulls and the large red cape. Still, this might be the most iconic of all his looks. And customizer Les Koting did an incredible job on his Spawn Minimate here! The sculpting of his armor, skulls and the cape are outstanding, although the über-detailed parts don't really blend in with the rest of the current Minimate line. But why should they? You can have a closer look at this custom, see a lot more pics including work in progress, right after the jump.

Monday, September 26, 2011

Doctor Doom Minimate

Cyber Minimate
Doctor Doom is one of the greatest comic book villains ever created. He's one of those old school bad guys on a mission, but he's also a monarch which makes things complicated. And kudos for combining both, the power of science and the power of magic! AA/DST already took five shots at a Doctor Doom Minimate so far, but this custom here might capture his likeness best. Customizer Fwoosheyman did this job with some reused parts and a little bit of paint! Great parts selection on this one! I guess this is very close to what people might consider the definitive Doom. Go ahead and read all about the used parts right after the jump.

Wednesday, September 21, 2011

Mystique Minimate

Mystique Minimate
Mystique is probably one of the greatest female supervillains ever created, bending the world to their desire and getting away with it. Now we already have an official Mystique Minimate and although she looks pretty nice. But compared with the current minimate standards and the great details they come with nowadays, an update might be nice. That's what customizer Psyguy must have thought, since he came up with a new Mystique Minimate in her Dark X-Men costume. See those details I was talking about? He even gave her the red shoe soles! Go have a closer look and get the recipe after the jump.

Cyber Minimate

Cyber Minimate
Created in the early 1990s, Cyber is part of Wolverine's rouges gallery and once even gouged out one of Wolverine's eyes. Thanks to his adamantium skin he even survived being struck by a passing train. Customizer Mattallica did a pretty good job on this Cyber Minimate, using 2.5" Minimate arms sculpted arms to bulk him up in all his adamantium covered greatness. But the best thing might be the head Matt's chosen. Combined with the mask he has just the perfect evil grin! Have a closer look and see another pic right after the jump.

Six-Armed Shocker Minimate

Six-Armed Shocker
Shocker! He's that guy from Spidey's rouges gallery who has a pair of gauntlets that can project a concentrated blast of air that is vibrated at an intense frequency. Now multiply that by three and you have: Six-Armed Shocker! Thrice the fun! Wait, six-armed? Well yes, right off Amazing Spider-Man #669! Customizer Boyd sure was faster than anybody else to come up with this Six-Armed Shocker Minimate. AA/DST recently released an official Six-Armed Spider-Man Minimate, but while the part giving him the additional arm pegs also bulked him a little too much, Boyd glued the additional arm pegs right to the torso. Slick! So please DST, have this in mind before you give us a Spiral Minimate. You can view more pics and read about the recipe after the jump.

Monday, September 12, 2011

Young Avengers Patriot Minimate

Young Avengers Patriot Minimate
Elijah Bradley, the Black Cap America's grand son, is the leader of the Young Avengers and is going by the name Patriot. Originally being on M.G.H. (Mutant Growth Hormone) to gain super powers, he now got some droplets of Super Soldier Serum from gramps, so he's a real decent super guy. Customizer Psyguy's is currently working on the team and did a great Young Avengers Patriot Minimate in his current uniform. It's very simple and pure, but uses great decal designs to match the character's appearance. You can have a closer look and read about the recipe after the jump.

Friday, September 09, 2011

Spawn Minimate

Spawn Minimate
When Spawn made his debut in the early 1990s I really enjoyed it. Very dark, very disturbing, very anti-heroic and a very cool origin story. With time passing, I stopped reading it, but I still think Spawn has a kick ass outfit! And what else do you need for a minimate, right? So here's a Spawn Minimate by Bob Harris including his iconic cape and those cool chains! Fun thing about the chains is, because of a very thin wire worked into the chains, you are able to bend them just the way you like. You can see a lot more pics right after the jump.

Psycho Norman Bates Minimate

Psycho Norman Bates Minimate
"Infamous for its shower scene, but immortal for its contribution to the horror genre", says Rotten Tomatoes and I don't want to object. Customizer Luke did his take on the Hitchcock movie and he did well! You'll get them all: Norman Bates as Norman Bates, Norman Bates as Mother, his actuall mother in her rocking chair and sweet-but-not-innocent-at-all Marion Crane. No wonder some people did take it as an official release, since Luke designed and customized a packaging for the box set, too. "She might have fooled me, but she didn't fool my mother." Classy. You can have a closer look at all four Psycho Minimates including the packaging after the jump.

Monday, September 05, 2011

Sleepwalker Minimate

Sleepwalker Minimate
Sleepwalker was the protagonist in his own 33 issue long series back in the early 1990s. He's given the usual superhuman abbilities, but his schtick were these substance altering eyebeams. Well, he looks cool, though. Customizer youbastards took his chance on this 90s misfit and his Sleepwalker Minimate came out pretty cool. Especially the colors work out great on the minimate. You can have a closer look and get a shot of his back after the jump.

Thursday, September 01, 2011

Mr. T Minimate

Mr. T Minimate
There are few people with a more iconic look than Mr. T, so he makes an amazing toy. Actually, there is an official Mr. T Minimate back from the 3" times. But customizer eclipse did a contemporary 2" Mr. T Minimate to go with all the other releases. And boy does he look great. You see those socks? Darn that's cool! But what's really amazing here is that he's basicly a vanilla 'mate. You don't realize it on the first glimps because of all the details. See? Great, isn't it? You can view a lot more pics including him looking pretty angry and wearing yet another iconic outfit right after the jump.

Mongul Minimate

Mongul Minimate
Not much is known about the origins of this yellow skinned former ruler and dictator of a whole world. Mongul the Merciless. Big fellow. Mighty mighty. And thanks to the incredible skills of Psyguy here's a Mongul Minimate. He's based on one of the older 3" 'mates with a lot of sculpting added to him. Do you see his face? That's some kind of art, isn't it? OK, I have to say that he got a nose and noses... well Minimates don't have 'em, right? But still this guy is just amazing. Go, have a closer look and read about the recipe after jump.

Scott Pilgrim Ramona Flowers Minimate

Scott Pilgrim Ramona Flowers Minimate
Tha last day of our little Scott Pilgrim VS Shamrock Week introduces the girl of Scott's dreams: Ramona Flowers. She literally is the girl Scott met in his dreams and now he's totally in lurve with her. On the one hand, she's amazing, attractive, lived in New York and is therefore cool, works as a ninja delivery girl for amazon.co and, I mean just wow. Well, on the other hand she has seven evil exes, doesn't she? Anyway, once more Shamrock nailed her. No, wait, that came out wrong. He did an amazing job on his Ramona Flowers Minimate and you just have to admire those sculpted details! The hair, the goggles, the subspace bag, the hammer! He even made her removable rollerbaldes! Go, have a look yourself and check out more pics of her after the jump.

Thursday, August 25, 2011

Scott Pilgrim Gideon Graves Minimate

Scott Pilgrim Gideon Graves Minimate
Day four of our little Scott Pilgrim VS Shamrock Week brings you non other than Mr. Gideon Graves! Gideon is the founder of the League of Ramona's Evil Exes, an epic mastermind, womanizer, excellent sword fighter and a dick. He's perfectly portrait by Jason Schwartzman in the movie. Shamrock strikes again with this simple, yet great Gideon Graves Minimate. Inspired by the movie and game, he provided him the pixel katana which is just an awesome and very creative Minimate accessory. I also like the reflection on his glasses quite a lot! You can see some additional pics right after the jump.

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

Scott Pilgrim Roxie Richter Minimate

Scott Pilgrim Roxie Richter Minimate
Day three of our little Scott Pilgrim VS Shamrock week introduces Roxanne "Roxie" Richter. Being a half-ninja and a blonde, Roxie is more than a tough cookie and taught Ramona everything she knows about fighting, subspace-highways and stuff. Because - attention: spoiler ahead! - Roxie is Ramona's fourth evil ex! They dated in highschool because Ramona was bi curious. Anyway, Shamrock did an impressive job on his Roxie Richter Minimate! A very clever parts selection combined with the hand painted facial expression and the fishnet sleeve, he really caught her likeness. You can see Roxie face off Scott after the jump.

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Scott Pilgrim Matthew Patel Minimate

Scott Pilgrim Matthew Patel Minimate
Day two of our Scott Pilgrim VS. Shamrock Week brings you Ramona's first evil ex boyfriend: Matthew Patel. Although he's the easiest to defeat, I really liked him a lot by the first time I read volume 1. The whole surreal and absurd music-battle is a good example for O'Malley's great sense of humor and style. I also enjoyed Satya Bhabha's performance in the movie. Shamrock perfectly captured the likeness of Patel in all his hipster/goth/pirate-style and was obviously inspired by both, his comic and movie appearance. Have a closer look and see him fight Scott minimate-style right after the jump.

Scott Pilgrim Minimate

Scott Pilgrim Minimate
It was seven years ago today - not really today, but in August 2004 - when Bryan Lee O'Malley came up with the first issue of his Scott Pilgrim series. That's five and a half year before I jumped on the bandwaggon. Boy was I late! Protagonist of this lovely boy-meets-girl-meets-evil-exes-coming-of-age-story is Scott Pilgrim, who's awesome (at least that's how he's rated) and the best fighter in Ontario, Canada. Customizer Shamrock did the amazing job to basicly customize the whole main cast! Reason enough to run an official Scott Pilgrim VS. Shamrock Week here at BAMF! We start off with the man on a mission himself, here's Shamrock's Scott Pilgrim Minimate complete with X-Men parka and the Power-of-Love sword (Guts +2, Heart +3, Smarts +1, Will +1). Actually this is Shamrock's second version of him (here's the first) and he improved a lot of details. Have a closer look and see more pics of Scott right after the jump.

Friday 13th Jason Voorhees Minimate

Friday 13th Jason Voorhees Minimate
Sweet 80s horror movies. What began as a gory shocker later created one of the most iconic horror film characters of all time: Jason Voorhees. Wearing a hockey mask never felt the same again. Customizer Mini Myte took his time and skills to customize not only the single Friday 13th Jason Voorhees Minimate you see here, but a whole Friday-the-13th-Through-the-Ages boxed set including the packaging! Look at the great details on this sculpted hockey mask right here! And the blood on his machete. Great. You can view a truckload of pics including Pamela Vorhees and Jason with his burlap sack from the second movie, after the jump.

Young Avengers Wiccan Minimate

Young Avengers Wiccan Minimate
Billy Kaplan is Wiccan, the Young Avengers who's able to use magic. His name was part of a failsafe program that Vision 1.1 (Comicvine says it's Vision 2.0, but I trust Mirypedia more) had developed to ensure the existence of the Avengers team in case of... you know what happend. Vision might have chosen him, because actually he's Wiccan's father. Scarlet Witch being his mother. And teammember Speed's his twin brother. While Team member Hulkling's his boyfriend. Family ties. It's complicated. Not complicated at all but amazing is Psyguy's Young Avengers Wiccan Minimate. Take a look at all those stunning details! The cape, the staff, the belt, the shoulder pad. Incredible, isn't it? Have a closer look and learn about the parts used after the jump.

Monday, August 15, 2011

The Warlord Minimate

The Warlord Minimate
In an Edgar-Rice-Burroughs-meets-Jules-Verne-Hollow-Earth-world, former Vietnam veteran Travis Morgan lives and fights as the Warlord: a more civilized Conan with white hear, a sword and a .44 AutoMag. Sweet seventies. Customizer Hellpop assembled a custom Warlord Minimate and while it's basicly a quick custom, it works just fine. His iconic - but somehow useless? - chain might be added as well as the skull on his right shoulder, but that's details. I really like the lion cloth, though. Anyway, go ahead and have a closer look after the jump.

Friday, August 12, 2011

Nightrunner Minimate

Nightrunner Minimate
Right off the pages of Batman Inc., the DC series in which Batman is basicly franchising his whole crime fighting schtick on a global scale, here's Wayne's representative in Paris: a young French Muslim vigilante calling himself Nightrunner. His grey urban ninja style outfit transfers great to minimates, so Bob Harris presents a Nightrunner Minimate. A very simple design with a combination of older and more recent minimate parts and the parkour athlete is ready to fight crime in the city of love. Go ahead and watch him beat a Streets-Of-Rage style biker gang and learn all about the recept right after the jump.

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Metamorpho Minimate

Metamorpho Minimate
Elements! What would we do without you? I mean, not literally, but in literature. Rex Mason became, after being exposed to a redioactive meteorite, the Element Dude Man! He's able to shapeshift into any element found in the human body - go Molybdenum! -, but isn't able to transform into a normal human form anymore. Tragedy. But what am I telling you, go listen to his song! Anyway, we've already seen some Metamorpho Minimates - like here and here -, but it's customizer extraordinaire Luke who brings us the 'mate we might would have gotten, if... Well, we all know the sad story, don't we? This guy is great and the combination of very well designed decals and a clever use of parts makes works very well on him. You can have a closer look after the jump.

Monday, August 08, 2011

Toad Minimate

Toad Minimate
Mortimer Toynbee, Magneto's toady henchman, became servile to anyone that showed him the slightest bit of affection - i.e. Magneto - after years of abuse and knowing full well he was a freak. This oldschool version of the currently more cocky and sarcastic Toad is what customizer youbastards had in mind when he did his great Toad Minimate. A very clever combination of head and hair pieces here and I really like the pose and the lighting in this picture. A shame that we haven't got an official Toad 'mate, yet. You can see some different head/hair combinations after the jump.

Dazzler Minimate

Dazzler Minimate
The late 70s. John Travolta. Saturday Night Fever. Disco. What should Marvel do back then, right? They - design by committee that is - created Dazzler, the disco singer, originally conceptualized as "The Disco Queen" with the power to make people tell the truth. Oh My God! Youbastards did a great custom Dazzler Minimate and captured the iconic look of her. The blue KISS-like face paint, the white disco suit with a low dekolleté and he even povided her a mic and visualized her light-generating abilities. Cool. Check out more pics after the jump.

Power Man Minimate

Power Man Minimate
The people at AA/DST obviously don't like Luke Cage, the super hero formerly known as Power Man. While the Power Man minimate looked kinda okay for the early days of minimates (6/10 at MMC), his current style as Luke Cage is probably one of the worst Minimates released yet (a benevolent4/10 at MMC). So at least some customizers give the big fellow some lovin'. Fwoosheyman here did a really cool Power Man Minimate and you can even hear him say 'Sweet Christmas'! Funny thing is that's a quick custom, so technically AA/DST would be able to come up with a cool minimate. Why don't they? They don't like him, trust me. Anyway, go ahead and have a closer look after the jump.

Marrina Smallwood Minimate

Marrina Smallwood Minimate
Back in the early 80s the need for strange sci-fi meets horror meets trash movies was pretty big. Think of an alien species that places their eggs all over the universe and the when they hatch from the egg, take the forms of the native species they encounter. Thank you 80s. And thanks John Byrne for giving us the super heroine mermaid Marrina Smallwood. After being dead for decades she even made her come back lately. Anyway, thanks to Psyguy we got an amazingly detailed Marrina Smallwood Minimate which is very cool. Simple, yet beutiful. Have a closer look and read the original post after jump.
